61 year record of brutal oppression and genocidal acts against the (minority) Tamils
* for 60+ years!! Tamils are being killed, massacred, slaughtered & tortured.
* for 60+ years!! Tamil homes, businesses, schools, libraries, temples, churches, universities, cultural buildings destroyed by Sinhalese civilians, army and police.
- Tamils are living in fear in Sri Lanka. They have a miserable life.

For more than 60 years, successive Sri Lankan governments backed by racist Sinhala extremists have been oppressing the Tamil minorities. They brutally killed thousands of innocent Tamils, burnt their properties and sent the rest in ships as refugees to the North of the country in the fifties, sixties, seventies and eighties.
When Tamils asked for their rights, Sinhala extremists always responded with violence

*Thousands of families (including infants) in barbed wire fenced concentration camps operated by Sri Lankan Military.
*Half a million Tamils kept in an open prison in Northern Sri Lanka
*Thousands in custody - detention without trial, other widespread abuses
*Economic embargo imposed on traditional Tamil areas for more than 2 decades
*Supply of food, medicine, fuel, electricity and other essential items controlled by the Military
*Forced Starvation
*Mass Graves and systematic violations of fundamental human rights remain un-investigated
*No International Media allowed into conflict areas
*Systematic destruction of Infrastructure
*Indiscriminate and wanton air attacks on traditional Tamil areas for more than 2 decades.
*Hundreds of thousands of livelihoods and schools, hospitals, libraries, temples, churches, houses, villages destroyed
